Bunker Atlas / Safyr mobile app

Updated October 13, 2026. This section covers Bunker Atlas (also known as Safyr), including the static-data release 1.0.21.

  • Local data: The app does not require an account. Downloaded shelter records, app preferences and saved map position are stored on your device. Remove downloads in the app or remove the app and its stored data through your device settings.
  • Location: With your permission, the app uses your location to show nearby mapped shelters. Nearby shelter matching happens on the device. You can deny or revoke location access in device settings and browse the map manually.
  • Network providers: Shelter files are delivered through Cloudflare Pages. Online map tiles use OpenStreetMap, CARTO or OpenTopoMap, depending on your selected map. These providers receive network information such as your IP address and requested files or map tiles; requested tiles reveal the area being viewed. Address searches may send your search text to OpenStreetMap Nominatim.
  • External actions: Opening directions, support links or a share action passes the selected destination or content to the app or service you choose. Feedback email includes the information you send. Those services apply their own privacy policies.
  • Advertising: Android builds use Google Mobile Ads, which may process device identifiers, IP-derived approximate location, ad interactions and diagnostic information. The iOS 1.0.21 build disables ad requests. Advertising availability and privacy choices can therefore differ by platform.
